Abstract

Color is part of the daily life of the human being, it is part of their identity, culture, and affective bonds. Since ancient times and throughout history, man has been represen- ted through space, images, and visual compositions. All this visual material has been com- posed by chromatic harmonies that contain signs and meanings that express their daily living. Color allowed individuals to express emotions and feelings that born from their own particular way of life. From an appropriate phenomenon in the interior spaces, social actors are express through color palettes; their tastes, preferences, and ways of life, which as a choice communicate a sense of belonging. Likewise, color perpetuates identity or, on the contrary, modi es it, by using a variety of shades as a sign of individual or collective transformation. Color works as a mechanism of a strong rooting in spatial and social way; but at the same time, it is a path of expressing renunciation and individuality. Color transforms the meaning, sometimes conventionalized, and inherited from interior spaces. In this way, color through space becomes part of the construction of a specific individual or social identity and an element of personal and collective configuration.
