Disseny unívoc: una ontoteologia de la creació

Resum

Aquest article introdueix el concepte d’embolic unívoc com un nou marc ontològic per comprendre el disseny com un acte metafísic de creació. A partir de la teologia medieval —en particular, de la doctrina de la univocitat de Duns Escot— i estenent-se a través de les tradicions místiques, ocultes i filosòfiques modernes, sostenim que el disseny no és merament una pràctica tècnica o estètica, sinó una manifestació del Ser mateix.

En traçar l’entrellaçament històric del disseny amb la mística cristiana,  la ciència oculta i la metafísica especulativa revelem com els artefactes emergeixen d’un camp ontològic compartit que abasta tant la vida com la tècnica.  En diàleg amb pensadors com Deleuze, Simondon, Heidegger i Thacker, proposem que el disseny opera dins d’un contínuum d’immanència, on  la  creació és distribuïda, ambigua i coemergent. El model  resultant  d'embolic unívoc desafia les concepcions jeràrquiques   i hilemòrfiques del disseny, i ofereix en el seu lloc una visió del disseny com un procés místic, recursiu i més-que-humà d’esdevenir.

Lewis Urquhart , Universitat de Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK)

El Dr. Lewis Urquhart és investigador postdoctoral. al Departament de Gestió del Disseny, Fabricació i Enginyeria Departament de la Universitat de Strathclyde. Els seus interessos de recerca són amplis ; inicialment va realitzar el seu doctorat explorant l’emoció en el disseny i les ontologies de fer i fabricar. Des de llavors ha treballat en una varietat d’àrees, incloent la interacció físic-digital, aplicacions de realitat virtual i augmentada, i disseny per a la rehabilitació, especialment en el projecte PRIME-VR2 del programa Horitzó 2020 de la UE. Actualment, en Lewis és investigador al projecte Design HOPES, finançat per l’AHRC. Com un dels Green Transition Ecosystems, el projecte té com a objectiu afrontar els reptes crítics de sostenibilitat dins del NHS Scotland. 

Dean Aaron Ollah Mobed , Universitat de Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK)

Després de completar el grau en Disseny i Innovació de Producte (BSc) i el màster en Enginyeria del Disseny amb Desenvolupament Avançat de Productes (MSc), està realitzant un doctorat investigant l’estètica dels robots, amb l’objectiu de crear un enfocament creatiu i un  conjunt d’eines per als dissenyadors que desenvolupen robòtica i la seva estètica. La seva recerca inclou la filosofia, la psicologia, els actes creatius i la robòtica. En Dean té passió per crear objectes i conceptes innovadors en tots els àmbits del disseny —des de la fabricació , eines científiques i objectes culturals fins a les arts— amb la finalitat de generar experiències i solucions que ajudin i siguin útils per a cultures i individus.
