Diseño unívoco: una ontoteología de la creación

Resumen

Este artículo introduce el concepto de enredo unívoco como un nuevo marco ontológico para comprender el diseño como un acto metafísico de creación. A partir de la teología medieval —en particular, de la doctrina de la univocidad de Duns Scotus — y extendiéndose a través de las tradiciones místicas, ocultas y filosóficas modernas, sostenemos que el diseño no es meramente una práctica técnica o estética, sino una manifestación del Ser mismo. Al trazar el entrelazamiento histórico del diseño con la mística cristiana, la ciencia oculta y la metafísica especulativa, revelamos cómo los artefactos emergen de un campo ontológico compartido que abarca tanto la vida como la técnica. En diálogo con pensadores como Deleuze, Simondon, Heidegger y Thacker, proponemos que el diseño opera dentro de un contínuum de inmanencia, donde la creación es distribuida, ambigua y coemergente. El modelo resultante de enredo unívoco desafía las concepciones jerárquicas e hilemórficas del diseño, ofreciendo en su lugar una visión del diseño como un proceso místico, recursivo y más-que-humano de devenir.

Lewis Urquhart , Universidad de Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK)

El Dr. Lewis Urquhart es investigador posdoctoral en el Departamento de Gestión de Diseño, Fabricación e Ingeniería de la Universidad de Strathclyde. Sus intereses de investigación son amplios; inicialmente realizó su doctorado explorando la emoción en el diseño y las ontologías de creación y fabricación. Desde entonces ha trabajado en una variedad de áreas, incluyendo la interacción físico-digital, aplicaciones de realidad virtual y aumentada, y diseño para la rehabilitación, especialmente en el proyecto PRIME-VR2 del programa Horizon 2020 de la UE. Actualmente, Lewis es investigador en el proyecto Design HOPES, financiado por el AHRC. Uno de los Green Transition Ecosystems, el proyecto tiene como objetivo abordar los retos críticos de sostenibilidad dentro del NHS Scotland. 

Dean Aaron Ollah Mobed , Universidad de Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK)

Tras completar el grado en Diseño e Innovación de Productos (BSc) y el máster en Ingeniería de Diseño con Desarrollo Avanzado de Productos (MSc), está realizando un doctorado investigando la estética de los robots, con el objetivo de crear un enfoque creativo y un conjunto de herramientas para diseñadores que desarrollen robótica y su estética. Su investigación abarca la filosofía, la psicología, los actos creativos y la robótica. Dean siente pasión por crear objetos y conceptos novedosos en todos los ámbitos del diseño —desde la fabricación, herramientas científicas y objetos culturales hasta las artes— con el fin de generar experiencias y soluciones que ayuden y sean útiles para culturas e individuos.
