Open audiovisual laboratories are essential spaces in the knowledge society, the development of the culture maker and open innovation. Based on a mixed methodology, this research has used quantitative and qualitative techniques such as group discussion, participant observation, thorough semi-structured interviews, and surveys. Stemming from the conducted analysis, we assert that these laboratories promote training, research, and audiovisual and artistic production by the citizenry in the logic of commons appertaining to participatory culture and thus social construction, providing the participants with enrichment and satisfaction from the collaboration and co-creation of projects. We then meet with spaces where the role of mediators as sociocultural agents is fundamental.
