This document presents the way in which speculative design is inserted into the curriculum of the Graphic Design career of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE), showing first of all the initial reflections from which they were based, as well as the relationships established between speculative design, prospective studies and various areas of knowledge, including several spaces where the participation of graphic design was previously unthinkable and that have now opened high-impact design fields not only focused on human beings, but on everything. what concerns the planet.
The proposal shows the work of the last two years and succinctly reports some projects carried out with seventh-level students, and the participation of other areas of knowledge.
Finally, it reflects on the pending in the process and the projections to continue the proposal, since the collaboration between design and other disciplines enriches the training of students and demonstrates the potential of design to contribute to innovative solutions, also considering that this initiative can be a precedent to build a more solid transdisciplinary work proposal in the academy at the Latin American level.
